Visual: The Streaming Service In the episode, a flashback reveals that popular character Alastor, the Radio Demon was a mass murderer in his human life. Being aware he was destined for Hell, he made contact with the afterlife in advance to secure a powerful role there. Rosie, who leads Hell’s cannibal community, vowed Alastor he would become “the most powerful Condemned Soul in Hell” in exchange for his eternal spirit. This raises an important query: How is Rosie powerful enough to raise Alastor above all other Sinner Demons? “The Rosie and Alastor deal is the first stepping stone in a larger narrative that involves so much, moving into season 3,” the showrunner states. “Obviously that is an excellent question: How is she so strong? The answer might be various factors, but the answer is in season 3. I am thrilled for people to witness it.” There’s no telling how long viewers will have to wait for Hazbin Hotel’s next season. The studios have green-lit the third and fourth seasons, but the creator frequently remarks that animated production is a time-consuming endeavor, and later seasons have no release dates yet. Nevertheless, she says holding off on those details is a crucial aspect of keeping season 2’s focus in the right places. “The challenge of any agreement with demons, or stories that have enigmas, is providing people sufficient clues to be like, Something's up here, and then unveiling that as we go, and allowing that be satisfying,” she comments. “So I am quite eager.” Picture: Prime Video Questions Answered in Season 3 The creator assures that season 3 will tackle the queries fans have been asking, such as why Rosie commanded Alastor to vanish for a seven-year period, which diminished his power in Hell. “The whole seven years, and the deals these humans are doing, and all that — it contributes to a bigger narrative,” she says. Meanwhile, the Rosie/Alastor backstory episode provides a further look into how the main characters of Sinner Demons appeared as as humans, the second after seeing Sir Pentious’ Victorian-era mortal appearance in episode 2. The creator says that significant consideration was put into the visual creation of these forms. “The human versions of the characters carry great significance,” she notes. “They range from looking quite distinct from their demon form to seeming almost identical. With Pentious, the first one we see, there was some internal discussion within the team between going with something that represents the personality, as opposed to selecting an option that's very time-period accurate. We leaned toward making a design that just seemed like it was him.” Image: Prime Video She says the primary controversy over the mortal look of Pentious was his long hair: “We were like, ‘Nobody really had long hair like that in Victorian-era London.’ But at the same time, we believe the silhouette is so important, and we also just felt he looked good. We were like, ‘This seems correct.’ We sort of provided the rationale that he lived in seclusion, so he just allowed his hair to lengthen. So there is always a solution. As we design the mortal forms of these characters […] it's such a fun thing to explore and determine. I am looking forward for fans to view additional of what the human forms look like.” Fresh installments of Hazbin Hotel the second season are released on Wednesdays on Prime Video.
