First-year player TreVeyon Henderson has recorded five TDs in the present year

New England tied their longest winning run since the Brady period as they beat AFC East rivals the Jets by 13 points in professional football

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the New England squad claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since star signal-caller Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a score, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

Victory extends the New England's advantage at the top of the division as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets bottom after falling to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had scored first at their home field with quarterback Fields rushing for a short rushing score to cap the Jets' first possession

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as Henderson scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the rear of the endzone in the middle of the third period to extend the lead to 21-7

"It was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," Maye commented on Henderson. "He aims to be outstanding."

Justin Fields threw to John Metchie late in the third period to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Borregales booted a pair of field goals in the final period as the Patriots sealed the triumph
